Ahaṁ Brahmāsmi

                              Ahaṁ Brahmāsmi

                                                            ---M. Mrithika Santhoshini

Temples are the samplings of the Monarch’s fortresses and the rituals inside denote their
lifestyle. Of course, our Kings were so generous that they made models richer than the original.
Thus the Gods and Goddesses in the altars of Hindu Temples are purely the depiction of Their
Majesties! Saying which, I do not deny the existence of divinity within the great pillars and goldentowers. One need not be an atheist to accept this; need not deny the faith. For, Gods don’t cease to exist when we begin to understand they were humans. By praying we only invoke to the Cholas and Pandyas and all our ancient monarchs.

Such wonderful temples were built for people to recognize their virtues once stepped in. Imagine,if gods were non humans or aliens like the controversies speak why would the sculpturesresemble the shapes and faces of our own ancestors? Why are they not different from you and Iexcept for the accessories of ours being out of trend.

What we call Hindu mythology or epics are pure histories of pride passed on from generation to
generations. They are the subliminal messages created; transcribed, enacted and preserved by
our valiant forefathers to inspire the hopeless (even after the centuries of their own end). The
motto behind the whole form of their art stands taller than those golden stupas we gape at today!

The great Kings expected us to resonate with the stories and fight our everyday battles
accordingly. Those thoughts are the veins flowing along the dark passages we walk through or
roll over in the name of Angapradhakshana. In such noble thinking oozes positive vibration which like blood, is filled inside every historical temple. Drenching our souls in the good vibes, we must stop doubting the power of human ability. While wondering at the grand, impeccable architecture, the worshippers should not forget to believe in their inbuilt abilities. Remember our Kings and Queens were able to accomplish their missions, achieve their purposes of lives and could evolveinto our most loved Gods and Goddesses, they did leave traces of their greatness in the form of magnificent buildings merely not to recall their magnitude only but to show us they were no different from us; we, no different from them.

Temples are thus the rejuvenation centres for our human souls, significant than gymnasiums.
And it is to brighten our auras, auspicious days and festivals are celebrated. Also, there is no
point in attending the festivals before developing an aura for oneself. Identify the colour and thenbegin to glow. Hence it is an alarm to leave the vices outside when you remove your footwear.Well now I understand why my granny asked me to rejoice when I lose my footwear in thetemple; it is like losing your flaw!
Are you ready to see yourself when you peep into the altar from the crowd, next time?
